ISLAMIC SCIENCE FUTURES IN ADVANCING REALITIES (ISFAR)

A dedicated forum for scholars, professionals, and students to discuss contemporary issues through the lens of Islamic Science and philosophy. ISFAR fosters critical discourse, collaboration, and policy-oriented discussions on topics ranging from ethics to technological advancement.

PROGRAM BACKGROUND

ISI has introduced the Introduction to Islamic Science course starting Semester I, 2024/2025. To cover topics like Islamic Science at Present and Future Changes, ISI exposes students to futures thinking.

The Futures Workshop on Islamic Science aims to make Islamic science an engaging field for USIM students, adding value by teaching contemporary concepts to understand Islamic science in today’s rapidly changing world.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  1. To expose USIM students to the ability to anticipate change, think critically and solve problems, apply holistic thinking, and integrate interdisciplinary knowledge, thereby empowering them to play an active role in shaping the future within the context of Islamic science.

  2. To encourage discussion, exploration, and the generation of new ideas in Islamic science based on current developments through the application of Futures Thinking.

  3. To promote the Introduction to Islamic Science course as an ideal platform to cultivate interest in understanding knowledge from an Islamic perspective and its potential for the betterment of humanity.
