Course Offered @ ISI

Introduction to Islamic Science (ISI1012)

Islamic Science is knowledge rooted in the belief in the Oneness of God (Tawhid), aimed at benefiting all of humanity. This course helps students develop a deep awareness that Allah is the only God, the Almighty Creator, and that all human actions are accountable to Him. It connects students’ pursuit of success in life with a strong Islamic worldview, emphasizing the integration of knowledge and inspiration from Muslim scholars.

By the end of the course, students will understand the Islamic worldview, define Islamic Science in their own words, relate it to their field of study, and apply it in practice—drawing inspiration from Muslim scholars and using the Qur’an and Hadith correctly.

Philosophy of Islamic Science (ISI8003)

This course introduces the Philosophy of Islamic Science, focusing on its core principles, history, and relevance today. It presents the Islamic worldview as a strong foundation for scientific thinking based on the concept of tawhid (the Oneness of God).

Students will explore how revealed knowledge (Naqli) and rational thinking (Aqli) work together to form a complete understanding of science in Islam. The course also highlights the achievements of classical Muslim scientists and connects their work to modern science. By the end, students will have the tools to analyze and contribute to science from an Islamic perspective.
